Basic THC gummy ingredients
For about 30 small gummies:
-
½ cup cannabis‑infused coconut oil (your chosen potency)
-
½ cup water or fruit juice
-
1 tablespoon sunflower or soy lecithin (helps oil mix in and set better)
-
1 packet flavored gelatin (85 g / 3 oz, e.g., Jell‑O)
-
2–3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin (for a firmer, “store‑bought” texture)
-
½–1 teaspoon citric acid (for tart “candy” taste, optional)
-
Silicone gummy molds + dropper or small jug
You must already have decarbed, infused oil or tincture; making that is its own process.
Step 1 – Gently heat liquids
-
Add ½ cup water/juice, ½ cup cannabis oil, and lecithin to a small saucepan.
-
Put on low heat and stir until the oil melts and the mixture looks uniform (no large oil layer floating).
-
Do not let it boil; keep it just warm.
Step 2 – Add gelatin and dissolve
-
Sprinkle in the flavored gelatin and unflavored gelatin while whisking constantly to avoid clumps.
-
Keep on low heat 10–15 minutes, stirring all the time, until everything is fully dissolved and smooth; don’t boil it.
-
Skim off any white foam on top for a clearer gummy, if you want.
-
Stir in citric acid at the end if you like them sour.
Step 3 – Fill the molds
-
Place silicone molds on a tray so they are easy to move.
-
Remove pan from heat; work fairly quickly so the mix doesn’t set.
-
Use a dropper or small jug to fill each cavity, then gently tap the tray to release air bubbles.
Step 4 – Set and dry
-
Put molds in the fridge or freezer until the gummies are firm (about 20–30 minutes).
-
Pop gummies out and, for best texture and shelf life, let them air‑dry on parchment for 12–24 hours so the surface is less sticky.
-
Store in an airtight container, ideally in the fridge or a cool cupboard.
How to estimate dose per gummy
-
Work out total THC in your oil. Example: if your oil has 14 mg THC per teaspoon and you use 24 teaspoons (½ cup), the batch has 336 mg THC.
-
Divide total mg THC by how many gummies you made. Example: 336 mg divided by 30 gummies ≈ 11 mg per gummy.
-
If you want ~5 mg per gummy, either use weaker oil or fill more cavities (e.g., 60 small gummies from the same batch).
